  We called Josh at Empirical Construction after a horrible experience with a different contracting company left our 1905 Victorian home in disarray. We decided to take over the job ourselves, however needed some expert opinion to help guide us through permitting and building. Josh jumped right into our job without hesitation. This is saying a lot given the state of our home at the time! Josh was willing to write up a consulting contract for us and we called him when we had questions that were holding up our job. He came over and did walk-throughs with us (often on the same day we called for help). He was thorough in his recommendations, helping guide us through the process. Josh was very knowledable and pointed out things we would have never thought about. He's also very personable and listens to what the home owner wants. I'm happy to say we are back home now and our renovations turned out beautifully! This could not have happened without Josh's help. I only wish we would have hired him from the start! We would highly recommend him to anyone that's looking to remodel or renovate. Thanks so much for all your help Josh!!!

  This was our first large-scale home improvement project and we love the results. We did a full basement remodel and it looks awesome! Josh was great to work with, responsive, on budget, and even finished the project early! He was trustworthy and honest which was very important to us. Josh is also very knowledgeable about Denver city codes and permitting and handled the entire process seamlessly. When we found a leak in our foundation, he went above and beyond to find someone to remedy the situation while continuing to push the project forward. I would definitely recommend Josh and Empirical.

  We had the best experience with Empirical Construction! We first worked with Josh and his team to repair a plumbing issue under our kitchen sink. We were so pleased with the service we received, we asked Josh to complete a remodel project to free up space in our house. He built out a hallway closet for us to move our washer and dryer into. He was very aware of our need for space and gave us many great ideas for the remodel. We were amazed with the quick turnaround and greatly appreciated the attention to the budget. You will not be disappointed working with Empirical Construction.

  Honest, trustworthy and hardworking General Contractor
  
  We have had a wonderful experience with Josh from Empirical Construction over the past 6 months of our very large "gut job" construction project of our home. He was physically at our house every day and oversaw every last detail of the job. His quality standards are high and he is very detail oriented which we appreciated. We have a historic home and wished to maximize form and function for our family while also maintaining historic charm and character. Josh was helpful in this process and helped us find solutions, such as a hardwood that would match the original flooring, that we are very happy with. We were very happy with all of the subcontractors that he works with as well. Perhaps most importantly, we finished ON TIME and ON BUDGET. Who can say that about a massive renovation project?? The only overages/delays we had were due to us (the owners) expanding the scope, and a couple of unforeseen structural issues from our very old (1903) house. Otherwise, the original budget and project schedule tied back. Each time we encountered unforeseen issues (e.g. structural floorboards that had been cut), Josh was very up front with us in explaining the issue and all of our potential solutions, with cost and timing implications. We were able to come to some happy medium solutions where we didn't completely blow our budget but also ensured our house was safe and done right. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Empirical Construction again, and likely plan to for a major kitchen reno in a few years.
