  I'm just starting out and I've attended three classes and have learned so much! I've learned that YouTube is good for somethings but doesn't teach you the correct or quality way to sew. I've really enjoyed the classes so far and can't wait to attend more!

  Loved my classes, Tish is great, she can definitely pinpoint any difficulties you may be having and the reason for it. She is a very kind person, and super personable, but she doesn’t have time to baby you lol! The classes are usually only an hour. Don’t get offended or defensive when the teacher is teaching you! As with learning anything, the teacher should be constructive, as that’s obviously crucial to the learning process.
  
  She really covers all the bases of each subject in such short classes, you can take it all in without being overwhelmed which makes it easier for me to remember more of the content covered.
  
  A little over a year ago, I took a three hour class at an unrelated fabric store that is closed now, and I didn’t retain any knowledge, all of my projects thereafter looked like a kindergartener, and they didn’t offer any follow up classes. That is not the case here at HISS Studio. If you want to take a class, you can inquire with her through the website on helpful prerequisites. And she has classes for every aspect of sewing, from learning about the sewing machine and tools for sewing, to making patterns to zippers, pleats, button holes, and so much more.. The classes are completely affordable on any budget. I can’t wait for my next one.
  
  I took notes in my own notebook to draw examples and diagrams I knew would help me specifically in the future, and posted examples from classes with explanations for what they are. I would recommend doing the same but she does also email you a pdf version of the powerpoint presentation from each class after you have taken it.
  
  All around I am so happy I found HISS Studio and thankful to Tish for offering classes like this at a price you cannot beat. I’m having so much fun learning to sew.
  
  By the way, that is my crappy machine I brought with me. The ones she will provide are much, much better quality.

  I attended the Sewing to Save Lives class where we made a kitten cat socialization tote bag!
  Starting with a handful of adorable pieces of fabric, and ending with an awesome feeling that you created something that is going to help a foster/adoptable cat in need was time well spent!
  I went to this class with a friend and it was a really fantastic afternoon activity. I’d recommend this class far and wide! Help all the kitties!!
  
  There was a lot to love about this class. I was worried that my rusty sewing skills would not be good enough for the adorable shelter kitties that would bestow my handmade carrier. I was pleased that there was a basic review of the parts of the machine and the stitches we would use. A helpful teacher and adorably insightful tutorial helped me to harness the sewing skills of my youth. I felt really comfortable following along with the steps. I absolutely have more confidence in my sewing abilities after this class. I want to pursue this craft more and I plan to.

  I took a private lesson with Tish, which was both extremely helpful and efficient. I hadn't been around a sewing machine since 7th grade Home Economics class, but now I have the confidence to work on more projects! Thank you!

  Tish is awesome! I was in a wedding and needed to get my dress altered in a month. We did a couple fittings and Tish had it done for me just in time. She was super helpful about what the dress should look like and did a really professional job! Thanks Tish!
