Natural beauty to enjoy and escape the modern world.
Good hiking venue and fog friendly. A bit marshy in the spring.
Used to play here as a child in 1990-91; I lived on Ridgefield Avenue and we used to cut thru and walk in the woods and there it was. No signs but old paths were still visible, just in the middle of the woods, so now that’s it’s labeled a preserve I’m curious. we thought the building remnants were so cool but didn’t know anything about it. Was told it was a mansion and the entire property burnt down. Who knows what the true history is?
Hidden Gem! Went on a Saturday afternoon and not busy at all. Nice wide trails and easy hiking. Took the dog and walked a couple miles. Some abandoned structures and other neat things. Nice area just don't tell anyone so it remains a hidden gem!
